Nutty Spread

Ingredients

200G NUTS
50G CHOCOLATE
100G SUGAR
50ML WATER

Method

  1. Roast the nuts. This can be done in the oven or in a pan. Keep an eye on them as they tend to burn rapidly.
  2. Place the sugar and the water in a pan over high heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Once the caramel has reached 170°C (or starts to golden), add the nuts and pour the mixture on a baking tray with non-stick baking paper.
  3. Once the caramelized nuts cooled down, place the nuts in a food processor and process until you have a smooth spread.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate on the spread and mix until combined.
  5. Let it sit in the fridge overnight.

There is always that point in time where you’re ready fed up with the protein bars, trail mix or rats your ranger could catch that day… Try this nutty spread to mix things up! It is easy to make when trees are around. Just find some nuts (any !edible! nuts will do), grap a heavy rock and start crushing until you get a yummy creamy nutty spread!
